Set for release on November 14, 2025, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is gearing up to be one of Activision’s biggest launches in years. Developed once again by Treyarch and Raven Software, the new entry continues the Black Ops saga for the second consecutive year, following Black Ops 6’s Gulf War storyline. This move breaks the traditional rotation of studios and has drawn curiosity — especially after the mixed reception of Modern Warfare 3 (2023), which many felt was rushed.
This time, however, the developers are pushing the series into the future — to the year 2035 — with promises of next-level gameplay, deep narrative connections, and expanded multiplayer content. Below, we break down everything you need to know about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Campaign: “The Future of 2035”
Black Ops 7 revisits the near-future timeline first seen in Black Ops 2. The campaign follows David “Section” Mason, son of the original Black Ops hero Alex Mason, who now leads Specter One, an elite task force tasked with tracking down Raul Menendez — yes, the iconic villain returns. After years in hiding, Menendez re-emerges with a cryptic broadcast threatening to “burn the world down in three days.”
The campaign promises to combine psychological warfare, stealth, and high-tech espionage missions across global locations. Players will travel from futuristic urban centers and drone-filled battlefields to isolated research facilities and arctic outposts.
For the first time in the series, the entire campaign is playable in 4-player co-op, supporting both online and local play. Additionally, Global Progression will enable the carryover of weapons and operator XP earned in the story into Multiplayer and Zombies, providing a unified sense of progression across all modes.
Multiplayer: More Maps, More Modes, More Mayhem
As always, multiplayer is at the core of the Call of Duty experience, and Black Ops 7 launches with an impressive roster of 18 maps — 16 for 6v6 play and 2 large-scale 20v20 arenas for the new Skirmish mode.

Gameplay and Mechanics
Movement continues to evolve in Black Ops 7 with the return of Omnimovement, which lets players move and shoot freely in any direction. Wall-jumping has been expanded — players can now perform up to three consecutive wall jumps to reach new tactical vantage points.
However, Tactical Sprint is no longer a standard ability; it’s now tied to a specific perk, making player builds more strategic.
Another addition is the Overclock system, which allows players to enhance Scorestreaks, Field Upgrades, and Equipment mid-match. The Gunsmith feature also returns, this time with the ability to share weapon blueprints via code, letting players swap custom loadouts with friends easily.
Zombies: Return to Classic Rounds
Zombies fans will be thrilled to know that Black Ops 7 brings back the traditional round-based format — a major shift from the open-world modes seen in Black Ops 6.
The debut map, “Ashes of the Damned,” is described as the largest round map in Black Ops history, blending claustrophobic horror elements with wide, multi-level environments. Expect new weapons, enemy variants, and a fresh Wonder Weapon unique to the storyline.
A new vehicle system and ammo modification types are also confirmed, offering fresh tactical depth.
Progression-wise, while Black Ops 6 multiplayer data won’t carry over, Zombies progress will, meaning you’ll keep XP Tokens, GobbleGums, Augments, and Team Skins earned in the previous title.
Global Launch Details
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and select Game Pass plans on November 14, 2025.
The game will have regional launch times for different markets, including Brazil, where details on pricing and PC system requirements will be shared by Activision soon.
Black Ops 7 appears poised to bridge the gap between nostalgia and innovation, tying together storylines from older entries while advancing gameplay mechanics. With a co-op campaign, dozens of multiplayer maps, and the classic Zombies mode returning, Treyarch seems determined to prove that Call of Duty still knows how to reinvent itself.
Now, all that’s left is to see if Black Ops 7 can deliver where its predecessor stumbled — balancing content depth with the polish and pacing fans have been craving.
