ARC Raiders has emerged as one of the most successful new video game launches of recent years, defying industry trends with strong long-term player retention and impressive sales figures. Released in late 2025, the title has retained roughly 91% of its peak player count on Steam, a rare achievement for a brand-new intellectual property.
While the game has naturally seen some player drop-off since launch, its overall performance remains robust. By contrast, Battlefield 6 has reportedly lost around 85% of its Steam player base since its debut, despite strong initial sales. Although the two games target different audiences, the comparison highlights just how unusual ARC Raiders’ sustained engagement has been.
According to figures shared by developer Embark Studios, ARC Raiders has now sold more than 12.4 million copies worldwide. The game has also reached a peak of approximately 960,000 concurrent players across all platforms, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
On Xbox alone, ARC Raiders continues to rank among the 15 most-played games in the United States, placing it ahead of established titles such as Helldivers 2. The sustained popularity suggests the game has secured a long-term foothold rather than experiencing a short-lived launch surge.
To mark the milestone of surpassing 12 million players, Embark Studios announced a community reward. Players who logged into ARC Raiders at any point between launch and 23:59 CET on January 13 will receive an exclusive in-game item, the Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool. The item will be automatically delivered via players’ inboxes following the rollout of the latest update.
Although Embark has not yet revealed details about the game’s next major update, the current Cold Snap event is nearing its conclusion, indicating that new content announcements may be imminent.
With strong sales, high player concurrency, and continued developer engagement, ARC Raiders has positioned itself as a rare breakout success for a new IP in a highly competitive market.
