Oppo has officially unveiled the Pad Air 5 in China after a brief teaser campaign, confirming earlier details with a full product reveal and pricing announcement. The new tablet targets the upper mid-range segment, offering a large high-refresh display, modern connectivity options, and a sizable battery at competitive pricing.

At the core of the Oppo Pad Air5 is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300-Ultra processor, paired with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The chipset is combined with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1 storage, positioning the device for smooth multitasking and responsive performance. Oppo is offering both Wi-Fi-only and 5G-enabled variants, allowing the tablet to serve as either a home device or a mobile companion.

The Pad Air5 features a 12.1-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2800 × 1980 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display supports peak brightness levels of up to 900 nits, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Oppo is also selling a Soft Light edition that features an anti-glare coating on the screen, designed to reduce reflections during extended reading or productivity sessions.

The camera hardware is modest yet practical, featuring an 8-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Both sensors support 1080p video recording, covering basic video calls and casual content capture.

Powering the tablet is a 10,050mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging. On the software side, the Pad Air5 ships with ColorOS 16 and includes Oppo’s latest AI-assisted features for productivity and system optimisation.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, and 5G support on select models. The tablet is available in Starlight Powder and Space Gray finishes, with the Soft Light variant offered as a separate option.

Pricing in China starts at CNY 1,899 (approximately $270) for the Wi-Fi model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB/256GB configuration is priced at CNY 2,199 ($315), while the 12GB/256GB version costs CNY 2,499 ($355).

The 5G variant is available in an 8GB/128GB configuration for CNY 2,399 ($340). Soft Light editions are priced at CNY 2,399 ($340) for the 8GB/256GB model and CNY 2,699 ($385) for the 12GB/256 GB model.

The Oppo Pad Air5 is set to go on sale in China starting December 31. Oppo has not yet announced plans for international market availability.
