DJI has officially launched the Osmo Mobile 8, its latest smartphone gimbal, bringing a series of major upgrades for creators and mobile filmmakers. The device is already available for purchase in China and introduces several new features that make it one of the most versatile handheld gimbals in DJI’s lineup.
The Osmo Mobile 8 retains DJI’s signature 3-axis stabilisation system, ensuring smooth and steady footage even during dynamic movement. However, the big addition this year is 360-degree unlimited horizontal rotation, allowing users to capture seamless panoramic shots and creative motion videos without restriction.
Key Features and Improvements

The gimbal now includes an integrated extension rod, making it easier to shoot low-angle footage or get higher, elevated perspectives. Another major upgrade is the new tracking module, which integrates ActiveTrack 7.0, improved audio recording, and a built-in fill light with adjustable brightness and colour temperature — ideal for vlogging or shooting in low light.
DJI says the Osmo Mobile 8 can deliver up to 10 hours of battery life, and it also supports reverse charging through its USB-C port, allowing users to top up their smartphones directly from the gimbal.

The fourth-generation magnetic phone clamp has been redesigned to be stronger and more stable, supporting larger and heavier smartphones — including those with bulky camera modules like the iPhone 16 Pro Max or Galaxy S25 Ultra.
With ActiveTrack 7.0, DJI promises smoother and smarter subject tracking. The feature can now track subjects more reliably in complex environments, and users can enable dual-camera tracking through the DJI Mimo app, enhancing creative possibilities for vloggers and content creators.
Pricing and Availability
The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is priced at CNY 898 (around $125) in China and includes the OM Magnetic Phone Clamp 4, multi-function tracking module, charging cable, and other essential accessories. DJI is also offering a Vlog Kit bundle for CNY 997 (around $140), which adds extra tools for creators.
The gimbal is available through DJI’s official online and offline stores, as well as major Chinese retailers like JD.com, Tmall, and Suning.
A global launch is expected soon, though DJI hasn’t yet shared details about international availability.
