When will Ghost of Yotei be released on PS5?

By Aayush

Sony has officially released a new trailer for Ghost of Yotei, revealing that the highly anticipated title will launch on October 2, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions—the studio behind Ghost of Tsushima, Sly Cooper, and Infamous—the game offers a fresh storyline set in feudal Japan.

Set in the year 1603, Ghost of Yotei follows Atsu, a warrior on a quest for revenge after the brutal murder of his family. Driven by vengeance, Atsu hunts down a deadly group that includes myth-inspired foes like the Snake, Oni, Kitsune, Spider, Dragon, and their leader, Lord Saito.

While it carries the spirit and aesthetic of Ghost of Tsushima, this is not a sequel, but an entirely new story with a different protagonist and setting.

Ghost of Yotei is the highlight of the PS5 in 2025

Sony has lined up some major releases for the PlayStation 5 in 2025, and one standout among them is Ghost of Yotei. This anticipated title joins a strong roster that also includes Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, set to launch on June 26, and Phantom Blade Zero, though a release date for the latter is still under wraps.

The company isn’t stopping there. Marathon, a revival of the classic Bungie franchise (best known for Halo and Destiny), is also making a comeback. Scheduled for September, the game will hit multiple platforms—including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Meanwhile, Lego Horizon Adventures will be available on the Nintendo Switch later this year, but so far, no formerly exclusive titles have been confirmed for the upcoming Switch successor. The next-generation console from Nintendo is expected to launch globally this June.
