AMD has officially unveiled the Ryzen 5 7500X3D, a processor designed to strengthen its position as the go-to choice for gamers. Priced at US$269, this new chip offers up to 22% better gaming performance compared to Intel’s Core Ultra 5 245KF, according to AMD’s own figures.

Although the processor has yet to receive a dedicated product page, early reviews provide a clear picture of what to expect. The Ryzen 5 7500X3D is, in essence, a slightly scaled-back version of the Ryzen 5 7600X3D, featuring the same six cores, 12 threads, and 102 MB of cache, but with a slightly lower boost clock of 4.5 GHz, around 200 MHz less than its sibling. It also maintains a 65W TDP, keeping it power-efficient.

Ryzen 5 7500X3D Performance

Given its near-identical specifications, the Ryzen 5 7500X3D performs almost identically to the 7600X3D in multi-core workloads. In gaming, however, the new chip continues to showcase AMD’s 3D V-Cache advantage.

Ryzen 5 7500X3d Vs Intel Core ultra 5 245KF

AMD claims the 7500X3D delivers up to 13% higher performance in AAA games and up to 22% better results in competitive titles than Intel’s Core i9-245KF. Independent testing by ComputerBase supports these claims, finding an average 8% performance lead for the AMD chip in gaming. However, Intel’s processor still leads by roughly 30% in multi-core professional workloads, thanks to its higher core count.

Ryzen 5 7500X3D vs Intel Core i5-14600K

When stacked against Intel’s Core i5-14600K, AMD’s own benchmarks suggest that the 7500X3D performs 8% better in demanding single-player games and 12% better in competitive gaming, all tested at Full HD resolution.

Not Ideal for Ultra-High-End GPUs

While the Ryzen 5 7500X3D shines in gaming performance for its price, it’s not necessarily the best match for top-tier graphics cards. In tests using an NVIDIA RTX 5090, ComputerBase found that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D delivered roughly 14% more performance. The gap would likely widen further with the upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D lineup.

For now, no release date has been announced for the Ryzen 5 7500X3D in other regions outside the initial rollout. Early reviews and retail availability are expected to start in Europe in the coming weeks.
