There’s good news for users of Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot Studio. OpenAI’s latest artificial intelligence model, GPT-5.2, is now rolling out across Microsoft’s tools, bringing enhanced capabilities and more intelligent responses to everyday workflows.

In a post published on its official website, Microsoft confirmed that GPT-5.2 is being integrated into both Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365 Copilot. The update introduces new models and features designed to enhance Copilot’s power, flexibility, and utility across a wide range of tasks.

GPT-5.2 is currently OpenAI’s most advanced model, offering different variants tailored to specific use cases. GPT-5.2 Thinking is optimised for complex reasoning, strategic planning, and advanced problem-solving, while GPT-5.2 Instant focuses on speed, making it ideal for writing, translation, and everyday productivity tasks.

Users can now find GPT-5.2 directly in the model selector within Copilot Chat and Copilot Studio. Once selected, the model can be utilised to address business challenges, generate insights, and develop more sophisticated AI agents with enhanced contextual understanding.

Microsoft has also shared example prompts and usage guides on its website to help users maximise the benefits of GPT-5.2’s expanded capabilities and understand how to apply the model effectively in real-world scenarios.

According to Microsoft, the introduction of GPT-5.2 is part of its ongoing effort to enhance the overall Copilot experience. The company emphasizes that users will continue to have access to different AI models and tools, allowing them to choose the best option based on their specific needs and workloads.

The stable rollout of GPT-5.2 began on December 15, 2025, initially for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Microsoft expects availability to expand to all eligible users over the coming weeks. In addition, AI agents previously built using GPT-5.1 will remain compatible and will continue to function seamlessly with GPT-5.2.
