Rockstar Games has unveiled new information about Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) following the release of its second trailer. Alongside the video, the studio published character descriptions and fresh images of Vice City, giving fans a deeper look at the upcoming blockbuster.
Originally slated for an earlier launch, GTA 6 was postponed to May 26, 2026. To build anticipation, Rockstar revealed more about the game’s universe, protagonists, and the figures players will meet in Leonida, its fictionalized Florida.
The Protagonists
Lucia Caminos
The most recognizable character so far, Lucia Caminos, will share the spotlight with Jason as one of GTA 6’s dual protagonists.
Recently released from the Leonida Penitentiary, Lucia is determined to change her luck and pursue the “good life” her mother always dreamed of in Liberty City. Her past hints at betrayal by a family member, but Rockstar has kept those details vague.
“Newly out of prison and ready to change her own luck, Lucia is committed to her plans—at all costs.”
Jason Duval
Raised among con artists and criminals, Jason has a background in the Army and ties to local traffickers in Leonida Keys. Now, he’s looking for a new path, though his partnership with Lucia may not be as stable as it first appears.
Rockstar teases their complicated bond:
“Meeting Lucia may have been the best or the worst thing that has ever happened to you.”
Supporting Characters
Cal Hampton
Jason’s friend and partner to Brian Heder, Cal Hampton is a conspiracy theorist and hacker who spends his days drinking beer and meddling with Coast Guard communications. He seems positioned to play the “tech guy” role in the narrative.
Brian Heder
A Keys smuggler from the golden age, Brian still operates his shipyard alongside his third wife, Lori. He offers Jason housing in exchange for services like extortion and keeping Lori entertained, tying him directly to the protagonists’ lives.
Boobie Ike
A Vice City legend, Boobie Ike transformed his street hustle into a legitimate empire spanning real estate, a nightclub, and a recording studio. His partnership with aspiring producer Dre’quan Priest at Only Raw Records may drive part of the story’s music subplot.
Dre’quan Priest
Focused more on music than crime, Dre’quan Priest is chasing his big break in the industry. Now managing the rap duo Real Dimez, Dre’quan’s ambitions may clash with Boobie Ike’s interests.
Real Dimez
This rap duo, formed by longtime friends Bae-Luxe and Roxy, left behind extortion to pursue success through music. Their social media presence and sharp lyrics may connect them to Vice City’s vibrant cultural scene.
Raul Bautista
A veteran bank robber, Raul Bautista is always searching for risk-takers to execute high-stakes heists. His skills suggest he may team up with Lucia and Jason in some of the game’s most ambitious missions.
Beyond its characters, GTA 6 will explore themes like social media, memes, and online conspiracies, reflecting how the world has changed since GTA V’s 2013 release. Rockstar promises a fresh take on Vice City, mixing its nostalgic vibe with contemporary culture.
