Microsoft announced on Thursday (18) that Xbox Gaming Copilot, the company’s artificial intelligence assistant for games, is now available on Windows PCs. A rollout to smartphones via the Xbox app is scheduled for October 2025.
Designed to provide recommendations, guidance, data insights, and in-game support, Gaming Copilot is still in beta testing, meaning players can expect ongoing updates and refinements.
How to Access the AI on Windows
On PCs, Gaming Copilot can be found within the Xbox Game Bar. However, Microsoft confirmed that the rollout is gradual, so not every user will see the feature immediately.
The company highlighted that feedback from Xbox Insiders has helped shape the current version, leading to improvements in voice interaction, contextual assistance during gameplay, and AI responsiveness when analyzing what’s happening on screen.
What the Copilot Can Do
According to Microsoft, Gaming Copilot is designed to save players time. Instead of pausing a session to search online for strategies, equipment tips, or boss guides, the AI provides real-time answers and suggestions.
Test groups reported smoother gameplay experiences, with the AI offering valuable input on missions, strategies, and loadouts. Microsoft positions the tool as a way to keep players immersed without breaking the flow of the game.
Expansion to Mobile and Consoles
The next step will bring Gaming Copilot to smartphones in October, turning it into a second-screen companion that assists without distracting from gameplay.
Microsoft also confirmed optimizations for portable consoles, including the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, as well as future support for tabletop consoles.
The feature is available globally, except in China, and is limited to users 18 years and older. Players will also have the option to rate responses with thumbs up or down and leave direct feedback through the “Give Feedback” option, helping Microsoft refine the assistant further.
