PC Memory Price Hike Looms for Q4 2025, New TrendForce Analysis Reveals

The global memory market is set for another price jump. According to TrendForce, the three largest DRAM suppliers — Micron, Samsung, and SK hynix — are channeling much of their production toward server DRAM and high-bandwidth memory (HBM), leaving less capacity for PCs, mobile, and consumer products.

As a result, overall DRAM prices are projected to rise by 8–13% in Q4 2025, with increases climbing even higher (13–18%) when HBM is factored in.

PC DRAM: Limited Supply, Modest Growth

While PC sales and shipments are expected to slow in the fourth quarter, and major OEMs are planning to scale back procurement, prices for DDR4 and DDR5 used in desktops and laptops are still set to inch upward. The reason? Supply constraints, as manufacturers continue to push production toward more profitable server memory.

TrendForce Price Projections

TrendForce notes that the rise for PC DRAM will be gradual but steady, continuing the same upward momentum seen earlier this year.

What to Expect

Price projections For DRAM

Unlike in Q3 2025, TrendForce has not broken down its forecast by product segment this time, instead providing only an average across PC, server, and mobile DRAM. Still, the overall trend is clear: memory prices are climbing, and supply remains tight.

For everyday PC users, that means DDR5 and even DDR4 modules are unlikely to get cheaper anytime soon. If you’ve been considering a memory upgrade, buying sooner may save money before the next wave of price hikes takes hold.
