Amazon is making it easier to shop by simply pointing your phone’s camera at the things around you. The company announced a new feature called Lens Live, which allows users to scan real-world objects and instantly see matching product listings on Amazon.
Currently rolling out on the Amazon Shopping app for iOS, Lens Live lets users move their camera around a room or focus on a specific item. Using an object detection model, the tool identifies what’s on screen and compares it against Amazon’s massive product catalog. Results are shown in a swipeable carousel, complete with quick options to add items to your cart or wishlist.
While similar in spirit to Google’s Gemini Live, which can analyze your surroundings and answer questions, Amazon’s version leans heavily into shopping, making every object scannable with a “buy” button.
Built With AI
Lens Live also integrates Rufus, Amazon’s AI shopping assistant, to provide product summaries and answer customer questions. The feature builds on Amazon’s existing visual search options, which already support barcode scans, uploaded photos, and image-based searches directly in the app.
Amazon says Lens Live will expand to more customers in the coming weeks, but for now, it’s exclusive to iOS users.
