Fresh rumors suggest that NVIDIA is pushing forward the launch of its entry-level Blackwell GPU, the GeForce RTX 5050, with a new release date reportedly set for July 1st—nearly a month ahead of its original schedule.
The news comes from known leaker @MegasizeGPU, who claims that NVIDIA has already informed its board partners of the revised launch window. Shortly after, another trusted source, @hongxing2020, echoed the same update across social media. The well-regarded tech site VideoCardz had also hinted at this change earlier through its internal sources.
However, this sudden move could mean some manufacturers won’t be fully ready to roll out RTX 5050 models on day one, depending on how much notice they were given. Adding to that, early signs point to a lack of a formal review program for this release, similar to what happened with the RTX 5060, where most reviews came post-launch.
As of now, nothing is official, but all signs point to an accelerated timeline. If confirmed, July is shaping up to be an exciting month for budget PC gamers.
GeForce RTX 5050 specifications
As anticipation builds for the upcoming GeForce RTX 5050, recent leaks are giving us a clearer picture of what to expect from NVIDIA’s next entry-level graphics card.
According to the latest reports, the RTX 5050 will feature 2,560 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory—the same type used in the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti. However, it’s expected to push that GDDR6 to 20 Gbps, matching the speed seen in AMD’s RX 9000 series. Notably, this would make the RTX 5050 the only GPU in the Blackwell lineup not using GDDR7, likely a cost-saving decision to keep pricing more accessible.
The card will operate on a 128-bit memory interface, which allows for a memory bandwidth of up to 320 GB/s—a 15% increase over the RTX 4060, despite offering similar memory capacity. While the RTX 5050 may come with fewer CUDA cores, it’s rumored to have a slightly higher TDP of 130W, which is 15W more than its predecessor.
So far, NVIDIA has not provided any official word on pricing or release day specs, but with a rumored launch date of July 1, it won’t be long before the full picture comes into focus.
