Apple has quietly invited select attendees to a private event scheduled for March 4, to be held simultaneously in New York City, London, and Shanghai — an unusual format that has fueled speculation about upcoming product launches.
Unlike Apple’s major keynote events, there is currently no indication that the presentation will be livestreamed, suggesting the announcement may be targeted, hands-on, or regionally focused rather than a large-scale global reveal.
The timing aligns with several expected Mac updates. Industry watchers point to new MacBook Pro models powered by the upcoming M5 Pro and M5 Max chips as leading candidates.
The MacBook Air could also receive an M5 refresh, following its March 2025 update cycle.
Another widely discussed possibility is a new entry-level MacBook powered by an A18 Pro — an iPhone-class processor — designed to lower the cost of entry into the Mac ecosystem. The device is expected to feature multiple color options and a price range around $699 to $750.
iPad refreshes expected
Several iPad models are also due for updates. Potential announcements include:
- An iPad Air upgrade from M3 to M4
- A base iPad moving from the A16 to the A17 chip
- A refreshed iPad mini, possibly featuring an OLED display and a newer processor
These models were last updated between late 2024 and early 2025, making a spring refresh plausible.
Early iPhone possibility
There is also growing speculation around the iPhone 17e, which has been rumoured for an early 2026 launch. Expected features include a 6.1-inch OLED display, Dynamic Island, and internal performance upgrades. Earlier reports suggested a February release, but a March debut now appears equally likely.
Major desktop updates are considered less likely at this stage. The iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio are expected to receive updates later in the first half of 2026, while the future of the high-end Mac Pro remains uncertain.
A focused event, not a full keynote
Because Apple has not announced a public stream, analysts believe the March 4 gathering may be a media or partner briefing rather than a traditional launch presentation. Whatever is introduced is expected to reach customers within weeks of the event.
With multiple product lines due for refresh and Apple’s spring launch window approaching, the unusual multi-city format suggests the company is preparing to showcase something significant — even if the full details remain under wraps.
