At its FunTime Live event, MSI introduced two new motherboard series — MAX and EVO —, both featuring updated 64 MB BIOS ROMs and fresh options for overclocking and system customization. These upgrades come in preparation for the upcoming AMD platform updates.
MAX Series: Built for Overclockers
The MAX line puts the spotlight on performance tuning. It includes an improved OC-Engine, which delivers highly precise clock pulses to ensure stability when running hardware at higher frequencies. This makes the MAX boards especially appealing to enthusiasts and overclockers who demand reliable performance under extreme conditions. Despite the new features, MAX boards remain fully compatible with existing components.
The EVO series, by contrast, emphasizes versatility and stable day-to-day operation rather than extreme overclocking. Like MAX, it also adopts the expanded 64 MB BIOS ROM, enabling broader and longer-term support for future AMD Ryzen processors. Positioned as a foundation for next-generation MSI platforms, EVO boards are designed with upgradeability and longevity in mind.
