OpenAI announced this Thursday (25) the launch of ChatGPT Pulse, a new assistant for Android and iOS designed to generate daily summaries based on user interactions and connected services. The feature aims to help people organize their day with tailored insights and reminders.
Pulse moves ChatGPT a step closer to acting like a true AI agent. Each morning, the app compiles cards with relevant information, such as travel tips with airport guides and dining recommendations, or fitness reminders that can be customized—like adding a yoga session alongside a running plan.
The summaries arrive directly in the mobile app, and users can opt in to receive notifications when they’re ready. OpenAI explains:
“Every morning, ChatGPT provides a selected set of the most relevant updates, offering the information you need to get back to what is most important. Each update is available only for that day unless you save it as a chat or extend it into your conversation history.”
Smarter with connectors
Pulse works with both chat history and connected accounts. For instance, linking Gmail or Google Calendar allows the assistant to suggest buying a birthday gift or set reminders for upcoming events. By default, these integrations are turned off and can be managed in app settings.
Users can also request daily curated research through the “curator” button, giving them more control over the type of information delivered.
For now, ChatGPT Pulse is exclusive to ChatGPT Pro subscribers, the company’s top-tier plan costing $200 per month (around R$1,100). OpenAI has not confirmed if or when the feature will be available for the more affordable ChatGPT Plus plan.
CEO Sam Altman recently noted that advanced features may remain tied to higher subscription tiers due to the heavy computing power required to run them.
