Sony has rolled out a fresh update for its PlayStation Link software, bringing significant improvements for PC users with the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds. The update, available for both Windows 10 and Windows 11, mirrors many of the features already offered on the PlayStation 5.
What’s New in the Update?
The latest version of PlayStation Link now lets PC users:
- Adjust equalizer settings and use predefined sound profiles
- Monitor battery levels in real time
- Control microphone sensitivity
- Update firmware for their audio devices
Sony confirmed that the PlayStation Link driver installs automatically once users connect the official USB adapter to their PC, making the setup process seamless.
Extending PS5 Features to PC
Until now, these customization options were only available on the PlayStation 5. With this update, Sony is extending the same level of personalization to PC players, signaling the company’s growing commitment to cross-platform support.
This move aligns with Sony’s broader expansion strategy, which aims to bridge the gap between PlayStation and PC. In recent months, Sony has released new apps and tools for PC peripherals, including improved DualSense controller updates and multi-device support.
On the gaming front, Sony has also been steadily growing its PC catalog, bringing major franchises to new platforms. With Lego Horizon Adventures coming to Nintendo Switch and Helldivers 2 appearing on Xbox, the company seems to be adopting a strategy closer to Microsoft’s, offering flagship experiences beyond the PlayStation ecosystem.
