Sony has revealed two limited-edition DualSense controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI, giving PlayStation fans a new way to celebrate Rockstar’s highly anticipated game.

The controllers were unveiled during Thursday’s State of Play presentation and are scheduled to launch on November 19, the same day GTA 6 is set to release.

Two designs will be available, with players able to choose between black and white versions. Both controllers draw inspiration from the neon-heavy aesthetic of Vice City, featuring sunset-inspired colours and glowing neon elements. The GTA 6 logo is also prominently placed on the DualSense touchpad.

GTA 6 DualSense Costs $84.99

Sony has set a suggested retail price of $84.99 for the limited-edition DualSense Wireless Controller for Grand Theft Auto VI.

Pre-orders will open on September 10 in the United States and select European markets, with the controller expected to be available globally.

The accessory continues the long-standing relationship between PlayStation and Rockstar Games. The partnership stretches back to the PlayStation 2 era and has remained visible through major releases such as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar has also highlighted the PS5 as the recommended console platform for GTA 6.

The special-edition controllers arrive as anticipation surrounding GTA 6 continues to build ahead of its November release.

The announcement comes at a difficult time for Sony’s public image among some PlayStation fans.

The company’s approach to physical media has attracted significant criticism, with players voicing their frustration across social media. Sony has also faced complaints over its increased focus on live-service games, studio closures and layoffs across its PlayStation development operations.

Those issues have added to wider concerns among some players about the direction of the PlayStation brand, even as major releases such as GTA 6 continue to generate considerable interest.

State of Play Draws Mixed Reactions

The GTA 6 DualSense was announced as part of Thursday’s State of Play, a PlayStation presentation focused on upcoming games from Sony’s studios and external partners.

While the broadcast featured several titles, it was criticized by some viewers for not delivering enough major new game announcements. One of the more prominent games shown was Marvel’s Wolverine, which is scheduled to launch in September.

With September already shaping up to be one of the busiest months of 2026 for game releases, the State of Play presentation offered another reminder of how crowded the PlayStation release calendar is becoming.

For players looking forward to GTA 6, however, the limited-edition DualSense provides another piece of official merchandise to mark the game’s long-awaited arrival. The controllers will be available from November 19, with pre-orders beginning September 10 in select markets.
