Last week, the internet went wild over OpenAI’s new video generator, Sora. This AI can make videos so realistic that it’s hard to know what’s real and fake! The possibilities are mind-blowing.
On X, Mikhail Parakhin, a big boss at Microsoft, hinted that Sora (the super cool AI chatbot) might be added to Copilot someday. Of course, this will probably take a while.
Sora, another new tool within Copilot
Sora is a chatbot made by OpenAI. It’s like a really smart computer program. You can ask it about anything, and it will give you detailed answers in a 60-second video.
If we combine Sora with another powerful tool called Clipchamp, it could be amazing for developers. They could use both of these tools together to make their work even better. Plus, it could make Clipchamp stand out from other video apps because of its advanced features and abilities. It’s like bringing together two superpowers to create something extraordinary!
Eventually, but it will take time.

OpenAI has described Sora as training with a unique network that helps simplify videos. This network condenses regular videos, keeping only the most essential parts. Sora learns from these simplified videos to generate new ones.
However, it appears that Microsoft is still ironing out the technical details of integrating Sora into Copilot. It will likely take some time before Sora becomes accessible in Copilot, especially considering that Sora was only recently introduced to the public a few days ago.
It’s worth mentioning that Parakhin’s tweet doesn’t offer a precise timeline for when the integration of this technology will occur with Copilot. However, his response indicates that Microsoft is dedicated to eventually making this integration a reality.
