Google has introduced a new premade Gemini Gem called “wellness,” designed to make Gemini a personal companion for improving both mental and physical health.
This new Gem — simply titled “wellness” in lowercase and represented by a plain “w” icon — is part of Google’s growing collection of specialised Gemini experiences tailored for specific user needs.
What the Wellness Gem Does
According to Google, the Wellness Gem is intended to serve as a supportive and informative partner for users’ overall well-being. When asked about its capabilities, the Gem outlines a broad set of features designed to guide users through every aspect of a healthy lifestyle:
- Nutrition & Healthy Eating: Get insights into macronutrients, vitamins, and meal planning. The Gem can suggest healthy recipes, create grocery lists, and explain nutrition concepts in simple terms.
- Fitness & Movement: Users can request custom workout routines suited to their goals and available time. The Gem also provides exercise explanations and recommends ways to stay active — such as discovering local hiking trails or outdoor activities.
- Mindfulness & Mental Health: It offers guided mindfulness exercises, short meditation scripts, and journaling prompts to help users reflect, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience.
- General Health & Knowledge: The Gem answers questions about topics like sleep hygiene, hydration, or body function in a clear, accessible way.
- Planning & Motivation: Users can set personal goals, track progress, and receive motivational reminders or strategies for forming long-term healthy habits.
Important Note
As with other wellness-focused AI tools, Google includes a clear disclaimer:

To try it out, users can find the Wellness Gem through the Gemini side panel under Explore Gems or the Gem Manager.
Expanding the Gemini Ecosystem
The Wellness Gem joins several other official Google-made Gems, including:
Storybook, Coding Partner, Learning Coach, Brainstormer, Chess Champ, Women’s World Cup, Career Guide, Productivity Planner, and Writing Editor.

Alongside the Wellness Gem, Google also announced new Canvas and LaTeX features:
- Canvas Slide Generation: Users can now input a topic or document and have Canvas automatically create a full presentation, complete with design themes and relevant images. Presentations can be exported directly to Google Slides. This feature is currently rolling out to Google AI Pro (and higher) subscribers, with free access coming in the next few weeks.
- Improved LaTeX Support: Canvas now offers enhanced rendering for mathematical notation. Users can copy, edit, and export LaTeX equations as polished PDFs for a more professional workflow.
With the addition of the Wellness Gem and expanded creative tools, Google continues to deepen Gemini’s role as both a productivity platform and a personal assistant — one capable of supporting learning, creativity, and now, holistic well-being.
