Google Labs has introduced a new experimental AI productivity agent called CC, designed to deliver a personalised “Your Day Ahead” briefing to users’ inboxes each morning. The service, announced today, aims to help users manage their schedules and tasks by summarising key information in a single daily email.

Powered by Google’s Gemini models, CC pulls data from Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive, while also referencing information from the wider web to build context around a user’s day. The resulting briefing highlights upcoming appointments, important tasks, and timely reminders, such as preparing for meetings or paying bills.

Beyond summarisation, CC includes agent-style capabilities that allow it to assist with follow-up actions. When appropriate, it can prepare draft emails or generate calendar links, helping users respond quickly without needing to switch between apps.

Google says CC becomes more useful over time through direct interaction. Users can reply to the daily briefing email to correct details, share preferences, add tasks, or instruct CC on how they prefer information to be presented. Each email also includes simple feedback controls, allowing users to rate the usefulness of the briefing.

CC can also be contacted directly by emailing [your-username][email protected]. While it can be added to existing email threads to generate summaries, CC will only ever send responses privately to the user and will not reply to others in the conversation.

The service is currently available as a Google Labs experiment in early access for consumer Google accounts in the United States and Canada. Access is managed through a waitlist, with priority given to Google AI Ultra subscribers and other paid users. CC operates as a standalone experimental service and is not part of Google Workspace or the Gemini app suite.

To use CC, users must enable Workspace Smart Settings and can disconnect the service at any time through their Google account settings.

Google has not indicated when or if CC will move beyond the experimental phase, but the launch reflects the company’s growing focus on agent-based AI tools designed to work proactively on behalf of users.
