Lenovo is preparing a major expansion of its laptop lineup as the industry heads toward CES 2026, with new models built around Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon X2 processors. The upcoming devices are expected to form the second major wave of Copilot+ PCs, emphasising artificial intelligence performance, long battery life, and always-connected mobility.
According to reports, Lenovo will introduce new systems powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite (X2E-88-100) and Snapdragon X2 Plus chips, marking a clear push toward ARM-based computing across both premium and mainstream categories. These machines are expected to arrive in mid-2026.
Yoga Slim 7x Gen 10 targets the premium segment
At the top of the lineup is the Yoga Slim 7x Gen 10, which pairs the Snapdragon X2 Elite processor with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x memory. The device is designed to handle demanding multitasking workloads while maintaining low power consumption, a key advantage of Qualcomm’s ARM architecture.
The laptop features a 14.5-inch OLED display with a 2.9K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits for HDR content. Storage is handled by PCIe Gen 4 SSDs with capacities reaching 1TB, offering fast load times and responsive performance.
Battery life is expected to be a strong selling point, supported by a 70Wh battery optimised for the Snapdragon platform. Despite the high-end specifications, the chassis reportedly weighs just over one kilogram, reinforcing Lenovo’s focus on portability. Connectivity includes three USB-C ports capable of fast charging and high-speed data transfer.
IdeaPad 5x series focuses on everyday productivity
Alongside the Yoga model, Lenovo is preparing new IdeaPad 5x laptops aimed at students and general users. These systems will utilise the Snapdragon X2 Plus processor, featuring eight CPU cores, and will be available in both slim clamshell and 2-in-1 convertible designs.
The IdeaPad 5x models are expected to ship with SSD storage starting at 512GB and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x memory. Displays will also use OLED technology, offering a 1920×1200 resolution and full DCI-P3 color coverage, delivering strong image quality for work and entertainment.
Unlike many ultra-thin designs, the IdeaPad 5x line is expected to offer a wide range of ports, including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card reader, making the devices more versatile for everyday use.
AI and connectivity at the core
A defining feature of Lenovo’s upcoming laptops is their enhanced neural processing capability. The Snapdragon X2 platform includes a powerful NPU capable of up to 80 TOPS, allowing AI-driven tasks such as real-time translation, local video enhancement, and intelligent power management to run directly on the device without relying on cloud processing.
Wireless connectivity is also being modernised, with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 expected across the lineup. These features position Lenovo’s new ARM-based laptops as always-connected devices, designed for efficient and quiet operation, as well as extended use away from a power outlet.
With these launches, Lenovo appears set to strengthen its position in the growing ARM PC market, focusing not just on performance, but on redefining expectations around battery life, thermals, and integrated AI capabilities.
