Microsoft’s limited-edition Xbox Series X25 could arrive just in time for Black Friday, with a reported US price of $899.99.
The information comes from well-known gaming leaker billbil-kun, who claims the special-edition console will launch on November 27, marking the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand.
Microsoft has not officially confirmed the reported price or release date.
Xbox Series X25 could cost as much as the PS5 Pro
If the reported price is accurate, the Xbox Series X25 would enter the market at the same $899.99 price point as the PlayStation 5 Pro.
Sony’s premium console offers higher performance than the standard PlayStation 5 and includes a 2TB SSD, although it does not come with a built-in disc drive.
The reported Xbox price would also make the Series X25 $100 more expensive than the standard Xbox Series X, whose suggested retail price was raised to $799.99 following Microsoft’s latest price adjustment.
That would make the anniversary model one of the most expensive Xbox consoles released in the current generation.
25th anniversary edition was announced in June
Microsoft introduced the Xbox Series X25 lineup during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 in June as part of the company’s 25-year Xbox anniversary celebrations.
The anniversary campaign also includes major releases such as Halo: Campaign Evolved, Forza Horizon 6 and Gears of War: E-Day.
Billbil-kun had previously reported that Microsoft’s first Xbox-related announcement at Gamescom would involve the special X25 controller rather than a new game. The controller was subsequently revealed, although the leaker has not disclosed details regarding pre-orders for the Series X25 itself.
The console’s exact design, specifications and regional pricing remain subject to Microsoft’s official announcement.
The gaming industry has also been affected by rising component costs. Consoles rely heavily on memory, storage and other semiconductor components, making manufacturers vulnerable to changes in the wider chip market.
At the same time, console sales have weakened. Data from Circana indicates that the US console market has fallen to its lowest level since 2020, adding another challenge for companies attempting to sell increasingly expensive gaming hardware.
However, the reported price and November 27 launch date remain unconfirmed. Microsoft is expected to provide official details about the Xbox Series X25, including availability and pre-order information, before the holiday shopping season.
