WhatsApp has started releasing a new tool that lets users set reminders for specific messages. The feature helps ensure that important conversations don’t get lost in the middle of daily chats — making it easier to respond later without forgetting. After initial testing on Android, the function is now being rolled out to iOS devices.
According to WABetaInfo, the option is included in version 25.25.74 of WhatsApp available in the App Store. Canaltech ran some tests but hasn’t yet spotted the feature on iPhones, which suggests that the rollout will happen gradually and may take some time to reach everyone.
This addition should be especially handy for situations where you can’t reply immediately but want to revisit the message within hours or by the end of the day.
How to Set Message Reminders on WhatsApp
- Open any conversation.
- Tap and hold the message you want to revisit.
- Select “Remember”.
- Choose a time frame.
- Receive a notification when the reminder expires.
Users can pick reminder windows of up to 24 hours. When the chosen time arrives, WhatsApp sends a dedicated notification along with a preview of the saved message.
Other Updates on iOS
The latest version of WhatsApp for iOS also introduces improvements to calling features. Users can now schedule calls directly within the app, which can be useful for meetings or planned conversations.
In group chats, the call icon has been redesigned into a single button. With one tap, you can choose to start an instant call, schedule one, or select which members to include in audio and video calls.
