Samsung’s next-generation premium tablets are moving closer to an official launch. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra 5G has appeared on the Google Play Console, revealing several key specifications ahead of the company’s announcement.

The listing identifies the tablet as model SM-X946B and points to around 12 GB of RAM, Android 17 and a MediaTek processor. A Wi-Fi version carrying the SM-X940 model number was also spotted with similar hardware.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ has also appeared on the platform, suggesting Samsung is preparing multiple models for the new tablet lineup.

The most notable detail in the listing is the processor. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is listed with MediaTek’s MT6993 platform, which corresponds to the Dimensity 9500.

The chipset is shown with a configuration consisting of one core running at up to 4.05 GHz, three cores at up to 3.4 GHz, and four cores at up to 2.7 GHz.

Graphics are handled by a 12-core Mali G1-Ultra GPU with a maximum reported frequency of 1,600 MHz.

If these specifications carry over to the final product, Samsung’s next Ultra tablet could deliver a substantial performance upgrade over the previous generation. The Google Play Console listing also provides information about the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra’s display.

The tablet is listed with a resolution of 1,848 x 2,960 pixels and a density of 280 DPI. The Wi-Fi model appears to use the same display resolution and hardware configuration.

The Ultra model was reportedly added to Google’s catalog on July 26 and is already marked as certified and compatible with Google Play services.

Galaxy Tab S12+ also appears

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S12+ has appeared on the Google Play Console.

The 5G version carries model number SM-X848U and is listed with approximately 12 GB of RAM, Android 17 and the same Dimensity 9500 processor found in the Ultra model.

Its display resolution is listed at 1,752 x 2,800 pixels. A Wi-Fi version identified as SM-X840 has also appeared with comparable specifications.

The similarities between the two models suggest Samsung will retain a premium hardware configuration across the Galaxy Tab S12 family, with screen size and resolution likely being among the main differences between the devices.

Samsung has yet to announce an official launch date for the Galaxy Tab S12 series. However, the presence of both the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+ on the Google Play Console suggests that development has reached an advanced stage.

The listings do not reveal pricing or all of the tablets’ specifications, so details such as battery capacity, camera hardware and charging capabilities remain unknown.

For now, the certification records point to a new generation of Samsung tablets built around Android 17, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, and up to 12 GB of RAM.
